Randy Ostrow has been active in film production since the late 1970s. In 1988 he co-produced Paramount Pictures' Let It Ride, starring Richard Dreyfuss, and in 1990 he produced State Of Grace, starring Sean Penn, Gary Oldman and Ed Harris, for Orion Pictures. Boaz Yakin's Fresh, which he produced in 1993, appeared in the New Directors Series at the Museum of Modern Art, was in competition at the 1994 Cannes Film Festival, and won the Film Maker's trophy at the 1994 Sundance Film Festival. He co-produced The Jerky Boys for Caravan Pictures in 1994, and then produced the Vietnam Sequence of the Hughes Brothers' Dead Presidents, also for Caravan, in 1995. He produced Julian Schnabel's Basquiat in 1995, and then served as Executive Producer for M. Night Shayamalan's Wide Awake. In 1996, he was Executive Producer of Caravan Pictures' Washington Square, directed by Agnieszka Holland. In 2003, he produced The Mudge Boy, in 2006 he was Executive Producer of The Woods, and in 2008, he was Executive Producer of Red. He has worked in other capacities on such films as Michael Cimino's Year Of The Dragon, David Mamet's Things Change, John Woo's A Better Tomorrow II, and Sydney Pollack's The Firm. Randy Ostrow was Executive Vice President of Production at USA Films, and Senior Vice President of Production at October Films. The films he supervised at October and USA include Happiness, Three Seasons, Cookie's Fortune, Joe Gould's Secret, Agnes Browne, Up At The Villa, The Muse, One Night At McCool's, Condo Painting, The Last Days, Traffic, The Man Who Wasn't There, Session 9, The Kid Stays In The Picture and Possession. In 2014, Randy Ostrow received the Bingham Ray Spirit Award at ShowEast.
