Walther Ludwig was a German tenor, and played opposite Zarah Leander in The Way to Freedom (1941) ("The Way to Freedom", "Le Chemin de la liberté"). He studied law, medicine and voice in Königsberg, Germany, where he also debuted in 1928. From 1929 to 1932 he was resident in Schwerin, Germany. Between 1932 and 1945 he worked at the State Opera House in Berlin, at the Scala in Milano (Italy), at Covent Garden in London and in Rome, Barcelona, Salzburg, giving concert tours throughout Europe and USA. From 1952 to 1969 he was a Professor at the Westberliner High School, and in 1971 he specialized in singing the music of Mozart.
