George M. Carter has been a performance artist, violinist and occasional actor (mostly background work) since 1979. He was the original bassist and violinist for the first iteration of the Rave Ups. He performed in the East Village with a variety of performances, including Philly Abe, Kembra Pfahler (the Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black), Samoa, Pierre Lamarche and his giant puppets at venues including the Pyramid Lounge, Limelight, the Cat Club, Area and others. More recently he has divided his time between doing occasional background work and running a small non-profit.
