Producers Guild of America (PGA) member Salvy Maleki has applied her 17 years of industry knowledge and network of relations to building Pathbender with her partners. Pathbender is a multiplatform business - entertainment unit core - a film production and co-finance company based in Beverly Hills, CA. Pathbender develops, produces and finances commercially viable, high concept film and television projects with strong thematic content. The company also provides equity investments through its own dedicated sources of financing. Salvy has been essential in acquiring and developing leading IP, bringing equity and capital resources, establishing international strategic partnerships while overseeing Pathbender media productions. Before jumping back to producing, Salvy was the EVP, Business Development for GDC Technology (USA) and GDC Digital Services (USA). GDC Tech, a Hong Kong corporation, is the largest supplier of digital cinema servers in Asia and the second largest provider of digital cinema servers worldwide. Salvy was tapped for her international business development and extensive background in both production and distribution with relationships to numerous filmmakers and exhibitors worldwide. In just two short years, Salvy developed and established new multiple business units while launching, staffing and managing the Los Angeles office, that houses GDC Technology USA (tech support and service for the sales team in North America) and GDC Digital Cinema Network USA (VPF contracts). Her successes in launching GDC Digital Services (USA) include creating satellite offices in Asia (Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Beijing, Tokyo and Singapore) for the implementation of a digital services post-production division providing digital cinema DCP mastering, duplication and distribution services to Asia. As a result, Salvy was instrumental in securing a strategic partnership supplying support for Technicolor in Asia. Other business units include an alternative content model for Asia and the US, allowing Salvy the opportunity to meet with Asia exhibitors in China, Hong Kong, Korea, Japan, and Singapore; and the creation and development of a distribution portal (in Beta stage) to provide alternative content to the 20,000+ screens worldwide that GDC services. The experience has allowed Salvy the opportunity to negotiate and liaise with content providers, filmmakers, exhibitors, as well as the major studios. Prior to GDC, Salvy was an entertainment consultant working under the shingle SMAC!tv, assisting filmmakers and financiers to develop and produce projects in the 3/4D marketplace, which included a stint developing a new 4D immersive 360 degree screen experience, implementing a 3D immersive sound experience for Iosono Sound, and brokering a $150 million film fund. With a background in visual effects and special effects, Salvy's early days included credits on studio mega-hits VOLCANO, GODZILLA, ALIEN RESURRECTION, RAT RACE, SCORPION KING, HIDALGO, WINDTALKERS, STUART LITTLE and HOLLOW MAN. Later she segued into film and media development working as a development executive for Steve Oedekerk's O Entertainment (ACE VENTURA PET DETECTIVE, BRUCE ALMIGHTY), and after this ran David Caruso's Greta Films. Salvy hails from Germany and through her international connections in Europe, Asia and India, has secured financing and produced numerous independent films and international feature documentaries, including FATHERS OF THE SPORTS, which starred Julius "Dr.J" Erving. Salvy served on the board of Teen Impact Affiliates of the Children's Hospital Los Angeles
