Independent Producer Mellissa Manzagol worked in the Detroit, Chicago and Los Angeles area film industries for over fifteen years in various capacities, most notably as a post production telecine colorist working on music videos, episodic television, cartoons and A-Title feature films at various high end facilities in both staff, freelance, and self sold (four wall) capacities. Due to her want to tell her own stories, she accepted many different assignments in most below the line capacities of independent film production to learn the necessary skills for producing her own works. As a result of this effort and her veteran experience as a colorist, she began offering post production consulting on location, a successful business angle of its own. For reasons of family and burnout from the big city life, Mellissa moved back to Big Rapids Michigan in 2005, leaving her career and industry behind. Soon thereafter she accepted adjunct teaching assignments at the local university and began working on ideas of bringing that career home after all, her most challenging task to date. In January 2008 she began Carom Video as a moonlight operation. In September 2008 Mellissa left the university to dedicate her time between Carom Video and sister company RatLandia Rattery while working towards a masters of fine art degree by online means out of Academy of Art, San Francisco.
