Thanks to his good looks Maurice Marsay was quite active as a juvenile lead in the late 1930s and throughout the 1940s. Unfortunately the movies he appeared in have almost all aged badly (with the relative exception of Le loup des Malveneur (1943) and Marie-Martine (1943)). Unfortunately as well, and because of his good looks, that is the only type of roles he got. Bored with always playing the same conventional parts, he longed for some meatier stuff. It unfortunately never came and little by little he lost interest in his film career, getting more satisfaction on the boards where he was given more opportunities to express both his sensitivity and his sense of humour, with plays such as "Enchantement", "Mon ami le cambrioleur" or "Sincèrement". He was married to beautiful Janine Marsay, a fashion model better known as Praline. Unfortunately once again, to his great affliction, death ravished her at the age of 31.
