Frans Masereel was born on July 31, 1889 in Blankenberge, Flanders, Belgium. He was a writer, known for The Idea (1932), Ten huize van (1957) and Pariser Journal (1961). He was married to Laure Malclès and Pauline Imhoff. He died on January 3, 1972 in Avignon, Vaucluse, France.
