Tommy Villafranca

Tommy Villafranca has been working in front of and behind the camera for nearly three decades. After film school in San Francisco his introduction into the industry started as a production assistant for the newly formed DreamWorks SKG at Amblin Entertainment. While running errands for Steven Spielberg's office and the various departments of his team, producers at the studio supported Tommy with the resources he needed to make short films on his own time. Tommy went on to work post-production on the Spielberg produced documentary The Last Days for James Moll/June Beallor Productions. Spielberg's Shoah Foundation Documentary was the Oscar winner for Best Documentary in 1998. Tommy began production coordinating on the Brittney Spears feature film Crossroads and went on to production coordinate for several Hallmark pictures including the highly rated A Carol Christmas, Mystery Woman, Fielder's Choice, Back to You and Me, The Christmas Card, Thicker Than Water and The Long Shot. After production coordinating several more feature films Tommy began Production Managing and Assistant Directing feature films including Nothing But The Truth, Finding Home, American Crime, Heart of Stone, Storm Watch, and Level 26: Dark Prophecy by CSI creator Anthony Zuiker. Tommy eventually earned his days into the Directors Guild of America. After ten years in physical production Tommy came to a crossroads in his career: stay behind the camera or start a career in front of it! He found his way to The Beverly Hills Playhouse gaining valuable acting training with Milton Katselas, Richard Lawson, Allen Barton and more. Tommy is also an accomplished drummer, touring and recording on five albums and collaborated with the founding members of the band Fishbone on his self-produced web series Smoked. Tommy's acting credits include The Family Plan, Light As A Feather, The Werewolf Diaries, Richie Rich, Mr. Fix It, Cut Off, A Beautiful Day, The Delivery, Love Spoken and a series regular on the independent television pilot Illville. Tommy produced the award winning feature film From Zero To I Love You with acclaimed director Doug Spearman and is producing Doug's third feature, a suspense thriller entitled Delilah Underwood.
