Actor Gary Mauro was born and bred in New Jersey and is the identical twin brother of actor Glen Mauro. Gary began in the industry in New York City as a model on shoots that took him to exotic locations around the world including Milan, Belgium and Switzerland. His most notable roles include one of the seductive twin vampires in the 1985 feature film Once Bitten (1985), starring Lauren Hutton, Jim Carrey, and Cleavon Little, which has become a cult-classic, and one of 'The Boys of Summer' in the Don Henley music video of the same name (he and Glen can be seen at the beginning jumping on the beach in glorious slow-motion and other scenes). Gary and his brother have also worked with writer/director/producer Steven Spielberg, as guest-stars playing Sam and Dave, 'The Terrible Twins' on The Mission (1985), which is the longest, and perhaps the most famous, episode of television's Amazing Stories (1985), starring Kevin Costner and Kiefer Sutherland. The episode was originally completed as a half-hour but Mr. Spielberg loved it so much that he invited the entire cast back to shoot an additional 30 minutes, making it the only hour-long episode of the series. In addition to the aforementioned, Gary has appeared in feature films The Zoo Gang (1985), Swallows (1999) (Lead), Somebody Is Waiting (1996), 2 Days in the Valley (1996), The Substitute (1993), and Jack and Jill (2011). His television appearances include roles in The 119 (1997) (Series Regular/Pilot), Pacific Blue (1996), Father Dowling Mysteries (1989), Dear John (1988), Married... with Children (1987), Casualties of Love: The Long Island Lolita Story (1993) and The Fifth Corner (1992). Gary's commercial credits are available upon request. Gary has trained with Martin Donovan and Tony Savant, at Playhouse West and J.J. Cohen at the Acting Studio, and is adept at various different dialects. He is an athlete able to play most sports including baseball, basketball, football, boxing, wrestling, swimming and golf. His special skills include precision driving, some heavy equipment, limousines, trucks, cars and motorcycles. Gary has also undergone equipment and tactical training with the Los Angeles City Firefighters. In addition, Gary has worked on the other side of the camera on numerous commercials, television and film productions as a P.A. and Assistant to Art Directors in props and set dressing, as well as transportation. Gary is a member of SAG/AFTRA. His publicity is handled by NoodleHead Productions and he is available for roles and public appearances.
