A noted singer in Detroit and soloist for the Detroit Symphony at age nine and also soloist for St. Paul's Cathedral. His film career started when he came to Hollywood in1940 to sing at the National Music Conference. He came to the attention of one of the sponsors of the Turnabout Theatre and was cast in a circus show there. The first performance was seen by Harold Schuster of 20th Centruy Fox, who signed Freddie for ON THE SUNNYSIDE (1942) opposite Roddy McDowell. His promising career ended abruptly in 1944 for unknown reasons.
