Michele is a native New Yorker and daughter of Metropolitan Opera Scholarship Winner Norma Cazanjian. Michele received her B.F.A. in Drama conferred magna cum laude, from Hofstra University in New York. Upon graduation, Michele dove head first into the New York theatre scene and after her first audition, landed the lead in a Broadway musical. That show was called Runaways produced by Joseph Papp. Two years later, she was cast in the Broadway Tour of "Fiddler on the Roof" directed by the legendary Jerome Robbins and starring Herschel Bernardi. For the next 9 years, Michele worked in Los Angeles, and was cast in ABC's Talent Development Program, with renowned Director to the Stars, Tad Danielewski. While in L.A., she was also cast in a four-person ensemble, along with Mindy Sterling (of Austin Powers fame) with a special appearance by Orson Welles (shortly before his death in '85) in a 'Saturday Night Live' format comedy Pilot for NBC, hosted by Fred Travalena, called "Just For Laughs." The 1983 pilot, however, stayed on the tarmac... Michele is married to Edmontonian Film/TV producer Josh Miller, with whom she raises their three grown children. She has also performed at the Citadel Theatre and Mayfield dinner theatre here in Edmonton. She was also a regular on the TV Series MENTORS, CTV, Family Channel *AMPIA award 2000 & 2001 Best Series. After serving 4 years as Edmonton Musical Theatre's Artistic Director, Instructor, and Playwright, Michele became the Artistic Director and creator of "Center Stage" a musical theatre workshop for young adults with Down syndrome which has proven to be one of the most rewarding and unique teaching experiences of her life.
