Christopher Miles was born in London, England. He studied at at IDHEC - the Institut des Hautes Études Cinématographiques in Paris, and directed The Six-Sided Triangle (1963), which was Academy Award nominated. He went on to direct The Virgin and the Gypsy (1970) which was nominated for a Golden Gobe, That Lucky Touch (1975), Alternative 3 (1977), Priest of Love (1981), The Clandestine Marriage (1999) and The Maids (1975), which he also co-wrote.
