Stephen Reynolds is a Daytime Emmy Award winning Canadian film and television director known as a natural collaborator and master craftsman who faithfully delivers potent storytelling and award winning performances. His early training in visual and dramatic arts has shaped his artistic signature in a varied body of work that has been described as "beautiful", "richly cinematic" and "display[ing] an eclectic visual range". He has just completed directing his second season of Hulu/CBC's "Endlings" as well as his first season on Apple TVs' "Ghostwriter" as well as recently completing his forth season for PBSKids "Odd Squad Mobile Unit" and a second season on Amazon's "Dino Dana". His previous multi-episodic work on "Haven", "Combat Hospital" and "Heartland" helped hone his dramatic work and the recognition for his eight seasons on "This Hour Has 22 Minutes" resulted in multiple award nominations. Reynolds is helping develope three television projects and two feature films . An impressive list of director credits spanning feature films to drama, comedy, science fiction and children's programming has garnered him, the shows and the actors under his direction, multiple nominations and awards. Reynolds made his feature film debut with the award winning film "The Divine Ryans" starring the late, great, Pete Postlethwaite. Sharing the Peoples Choice Award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival with "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", The Divine Ryans was selected by the China Film Archives in Beijing to be the opening film for their Canadian Perspective series in November 2000 where Reynolds was the guest speaker. Since then, his work on "This Hour Has 22 Minutes", "That's So Weird", "Hatching, Matching and Dispatching", "Snakes and Ladders", "The Eleventh Hour" (aka Bury The Lead), and "Made In Canada" (aka The Industry) have all earned Canadian Comedy and Gemini Award nominations and wins. Prior to directing, Reynolds spent fifteen years as a First Assistant Director and Line Producer all across Canada and served as the Programme Director at Norman Jewison's Canadian Film Centre under Wayne Clarkson (1992/93). He is a graduate of Halifax's avant-garde NSCAD art school (1984, BFA in Photography and Mixed Media) and lives in Toronto, Ontario.
