Marty Rhone was born on May 7, 1948 in Soerabaja, East Java, Dutch East Indies as Karel Lawrence van Rhoon. He is a multi-award-winning actor and singer who has accumulated a distinguished six decade career on the stage, in television and on film. Marty's theatre credits include both West End London & Australian appearances in The King and I (LunTha) alongside Yul Brynner, Lou Diamond Phillips, Lisa McCune, and Teddy Tahu Rhodes. As the Kralahome in the Opera Australia production he was nominated for a Helpmann Award as Best Supporting Actor. He appeared in the original Sydney production of Godspell with John Waters and appeared with Jackie Weaver in God Save the Queen. He wrote the music for the Machiavellian farce La Mandragola and played the medieval storyteller and was on stage throughout . On television he was a regular cast member of No 96 and Class of 75 and more recently has appeared in American series Bull and Preacher as well as Harrow, Wentworth, Under the Milky Way and Doctor Blake Murder Mysteries. He has had lead roles in two internationally released films Rise and The Comet Kids. His ethnic diversity (Australian, Asian, Dutch, British heritage) and an ability with various accents, including several US dialects, has him in demand to play many nationalities: European, Asian and American. He is also an in-demand voice over artist and has worked both in Australia and the US in this capacity. As a vocalist and recording artist he has achieved 5 x #1 hits that has seen him perform in the UK, Asia and the US. He has performed for members of the British Royal family, the late Princess Grace of Monaco , the late King Hussein of Jordon and Queen Noor.
