Andrea Ridolfi is an Italian musician, Composer and Conductor. Born in Rome (4th August 1963), he studied double bass at the Licinio Refice Conservatory in Frosinone (Italy). His musical training was then deepened and enriched by undertaking studies in harmony and composition. In 1984 he graduated from the "Roberto Rossellini" State Institute for Cinema and Television in Rome. Child prodigy, he already played guitar and piano at the age of 6. Over time, he devoted himself to the study of other instruments (double bass, electric bass, cello, piano, guitar, drums) and, becoming a multi-instrumentalist, he expanded his profile by specializing in computer music and sound design. This expertise allowed him to collaborate with composers such as Luis Bacalov, Egisto Macchi, Ralph Towner, Stelvio Cipriani, and Carlo Crivelli. The deep passion for music led him to become a music consultant and thus he compiled several collections of film music (Nino Rota, Luis Bacalov, Carlo Rustichelli, Armando Trovajoli, Alessandro Cicognini, Stelvio Cipriani), honing his musical knowledge of Italian cinematography. His professional activity began in 1983 by composing music for film, theater, television, discography, advertising, and by virtue of his multifaceted personality, he entered into a professional collaboration with CAM Record Company, a well-known and important record label at the time, one of the first companies specialized in releasing film music on disc. Working for CAM from 1985 to 1997, he implemented his knowledge and skills as arranger and conductor by personally taking care of the music recordings, re-writing the orchestral scores of two important movies and recording them in Bulgaria conducting the Sofia Symphony Orchestra. Later on, he became a soundtrack composer, skilled in orchestrating all parts of the scores he composed with the effective use of musical instruments that perfectly blend with the film scene, enhancing it. By virtue of his versatile ability, he began to collaborate with RAI Fiction for which he writes and produces original music for fiction, TV miniseries and documentaries where the peculiarity of his musical style is the mingling of classical instruments and electronic sounds that, blending fluidly without degrading the orchestral ensemble, form the backdrop to the most disparate narrative genres. Being so ductile allows him to create both purely instrumental and sung pieces where the wide knowledge of different musical styles is supported by always innovative ideas, suitable for contingent situations, through the effective use of the orchestral instruments. Such eclecticism is reflected in his ability to compose music for comedies, fantasies, thrillers and musical movies as well as for pop, folk or Latin American songs to be adapted to any kind of video production.
