Dan Rybicky is an award-winning filmmaker and educator focused on telling the stories of Americans to inspire deep conversations about the importance of art, education, health, and care. Dan produced and co-directed ITVS/Kartemquin Films' critically-acclaimed feature documentary "Almost There," which was distributed theatrically, digitally, and on public television in 2016. Dan's most recent short documentary about health care "Accident, MD" recently received Vimeo's Best of the Year Award after receiving a favorable review in The New Yorker and being broadcast nationally on PBS/Independent Lens. Dan received his BA at Vassar College and his MFA at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts before beginning to work with and consulting in various production capacities for Martin Scorsese, John Sayles, and John Leguizamo. Dan's latest short documentaries - "Larry from Gary" (about dance teacher in Gary, Indiana) and "Stormy and the Admirals" (about a group of elderly feminists from Chicago who go see Stormy Daniels strip) - will premiere in 2020.
