Thomas Henry Sabin was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, U.S.A. His Father, Hank Sabin, was the Regional Manager for the Gulf Oil Corporation in New England. His mother, Elizabeth (Lizzie) was a housewife. When Tom was growing up, they moved every four years for Hank's work. Tom is the youngest of four children. At the age of fourteen, Tom began acting in summer stock theaters such as : The Hartford Stage Company, The Lakes Region Playhouse and the Williamstown Summer Theatre, where he shared the stage with the likes of Loretta Swit and Frank Langella. After his freshman year in collage, nearing the end of the Viet Nam War, Tom was drafted into the Army. He served two years in at a nuclear missile site in Germany before returning to the University Of Denver, but this time changing his studies from acting to cinema. One afternoon, while visiting a professor, the phone rang with a job offer as assistant editor. Tom's professor handed him the phone and Tom's career as an editor began. After working in Denver as an assistant editor, Tom moved to Los Angeles with a job as segment editor for the NBC show, Real People, which won an Emmy award two years in a row. Tom went on to work with Micheal Nesmith (from The Monkeys) on Television Parts and Doctor Duck's Super Secret All-Purpose Sauce, before meeting the renowned Spanish director, Bigas Luna. Tom edited two films for Bigas, Reborn (Starring Dennis Hopper) and Anguish, which brought Tom to Spain while cutting the film. During Tom's stay in Barcelona, he was offered a job directing commercials by Studio Pomés, and then Ovideo TV, before founding his own Production Company, Monkey Films Barcelona, with his wife, Maria Guerin. Tom's commercials have won three Lions at the Cannes Commercial Film Festival, as well as London Film Festival and the Clio and New York Film Festival, as well as many others... Tom is Acadèmic: Acadèmia del Cinema Català.
