Pavel Schnabel was born 1946 in Olomouc, Czechoslovakia, and grew up in Liberec (Reichenberg). He studied at the Film and Television Academy in Prague (FAMU) and emigrated in 1968. Pavel Schnabel has worked for many years as a freelance director and cameraman in Germany and has been awarded several international and German prizes and nominations for his films.
