Craig Serling is an Emmy nominated, writer, editor, and producer who brings a disciplined creative vision and intuitive understanding of human drama to his work. After receiving a (B.S) in Film and Photographic Arts at the Rochester Institute of Technology, Craig began his career producing documentaries. He gained notoriety for " American Heroes", filmed in Bosnia during the siege of Sarajevo others included "Roseland," chronicles the gentrification of a community - which earned Craig a directing fellowship at the American Film Institute and "Received Damage," investigates punk rock band "Black Flag," through rare interviews. Craig translated this passion for human-interest stories and knack for tracking large ensemble story-lines into highly successful projects in both the scripted and verite' space. In 2008, Craig produced and directed a series of narrative films titled JAM - which traveled the film festival circuit extensively before landing multiple distribution deals with (Starz Media) and (Showtime Networks), broadcast over 300+. In the unscripted space, Craig has worked on first season stalwarts "Survivor", and "American Idol" and been instrumental in formatting over 20 other cable and network television series. Craig has worked for nearly every major network and cable outlet including Discovery networks where he was Supervising Producer on Animal Planet's "Gator Boys " and comedy troupe "Mall Cops." Craig, (2018) is working on packaging his next feature "Science of Luck" and pitching a TV movie "Signposts" as a backdoor pilot for a premium content provider. Craig teaches and participates in panels and workshops for filmmakers in New York state.. He is an active member of the Director's Guild of America.
