Lawrence K. Paquin was born in Michigamme, Michigan on January 5, 1896 and devoted most of his life to the stage and screen. He lived in New York City, where he participated in stage plays as both actor and crew member. He appeared in movies such as Boomerang, Miracle on 34th Street (1947) and most notably, Anatomy of a Murder (1959) in which he played the jury foreman. That movie was filmed entirely in Marquette County, Michigan, in the towns of Marquette, Big Bay, Ishpeming, and Michigamme, which was Lawrence Paquin's hometown. Though he lived in NYC for much of his professional career, he would return to Michigamme at times. In 1949 he spent the entire summer there. He died on March 31, 1977 and is buried in Lakeview Cemetery in Michigamme. Though he may be found on websites as Lawrence Paguin, the correct spelling of his name is "Paquin," as it is mentioned in numerous Upper Michigan newspapers during his lifetime. He is also listed as a cast member on the special premiere program for the film "Anatomy of a Murder" (1959) on July 31 when it was first shown in both Marquette and Ishpeming, Michigan, a couple of days before the actual world premiere in Detroit, Michigan.
