Born in Milan, Italy, Matteo Pellegrini attended film school in Milan and University in Bologna. From 1994-1997 he executed a series of short films which were highly acclaimed and won him various International awards (Venice, Torino, Rome, Bologna, Trieste, Montreal, Montpellier, Annecy, Bastia, Argeles-Sur-Mer, St.Petersburg, Valencia, Umea, New York, Los Angeles, London). His music video portfolio includes work for highly regarded Italian singers like Tiziano Ferro, Renato Zero and Laura Pausini. He is increasingly active on the international advertising scene and he is represented by Stink. He won Epica, Worldmedals New York Festival, GranPrix Italia, London International Award and Cannes Lion awards. In 2010 he signed the Italian segment "Dal Quarantunesimo" ("From 41st minute"), with Gianmarco Tognazzi, for the international movie "World Champions Stories", with the original score signed by the Academy Awards two times nominated Johann Johannsson. In 2012 his first feature film "Italian Movies", distributed by Eagle Pictures, has been presented in competition at the Rome International Film Festival, then at the Mantova, Maratea, Fort Lauderdale, Montpellier, Villerupt, Grenoble, Toulouse, Madrid, Seattle, Honfleur, Mons, Nantes, Los Angeles festivals. Starring Aleksei Guskov, Eriq Ebouaney, Filippo Timi, Harvey Virdi, Anita Kravos, Michele Venitucci and Neil D'Souza. In 2006 he funded Merenda Film, based in Milan. The company develops projects for cinema, TV/web series and theatre.
