Vito Joseph Picone was born to Frank and Jennie Picone in South Beach, Staten Island in 1941. His father died when he was only six, leaving him with his mother (pregnant with his only younger brother) and his grandfather. At the age of sixteen, his song "Little Star" propelled his band, The Elegants, into international fame. However, he only produced two minor hits afterwards, "Little Boy Blue" and "Goodnight". He continues performing around the country as the only original member of 'The Elegants' and has done acting, as well as composing on the side. He is divorced with three children, Vito, Jack and Deanna. He also has twins Anthony and Steve.
