Olga Preobrazhenskaya

Olga Preobrazhenskaya was a Russian theater and film actress, film director, screenwriter and teacher. She studied in the studio of the Moscow Art Theater (1905-1906), then worked in provincial theaters. She made her film debut in 1913. In 1915, she played a number of roles of famous heroines: Liza (Turgenev's Noble Nest), Manya Yeltsova, the first film adaptation of A. Verbitskaya's novel Keys of Happiness, Natasha Rostov (War and Peace of Tolstoy), princess Vera (Garnet Bracelet) Kuprina). Since 1916 - film director. In 1927-1941 she worked together with director Ivan Pravov on "the most significant directorial work during the years of "silent" cinema" - the film "(The Peasant) Women of Ryazan" (1927).
