A pretty, vivacious actress, Cheryl Prime studied drama at the famous Saturday Club for children, run by Joe Holroyd in Salford, appearing on stage for the first time aged 9 in "The Corn is Green", at the Victoria Theatre. She auditioned for the Arts Educational School in Tring and won a scholarship aged 12. Cheryl later studied at amount view Theatre School, Crouch Hill, London, graduating in July 1981. She was nominated by the newspaper critics , in the same year, as the most promising newcomer to the theatre, for her role in Arthur Schnitzler's "The Round Dance" at the Royal Exchange in Manchester. Her professional work covered film, with her hero Mike Leigh in "High Hopes", television, theatre, radio, voice-overs and commercials. Though recognised for her comedic timing, her last professional leading role was in a tug of love drama opposite Art Malik in Deborah Moggach's six part television series "Stolen". Cheryl married and moved to Vienna and spent the following years bringing up her two children. She is now back in London and rumour has it that she intends to return to the business, either through writing - her screenplay "Adventures in the Real World" is currently (March 2014) with a London production company - or possibly becoming a newcomer again, as she fancies "treading the boards" once more.
