Date of birth : 11/07/1920
Date of death : 12/11/2016
City of birth : Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands

For her work in saving the lives of dozen of Dutch Jews during the Holocaust, Marion Pritchard was named by Yad Vashem, the Holocaust memorial in Jerusalem, as one of the "righteous among the nations" - those gentiles who, seeking no reward, risked their lives to protect and save Jews from the Nazis during World War II. A college student who was active in the Resistance, Marion Van Binsbergen, as she was then, was able to feed, clothe, hide and otherwise help at least one hundred and fifty Dutch Jews. When a Dutch policeman discovered a hiding place and was about to arrest those unfortunates he found there, Marion pulled out an automatic pistol and shot him dead.
