A native of Ireland, Emma Pyne has been entertaining the public since she was twelve. At school she performed in musical productions as well as countless comedy skits. At art school, she was part of a glam-rock covers band called The Alvin Purple Experience. She made her screen debut in Brit cult flick Preaching to the Perverted (1997) She later appeared in BBC fantasy drama Neverwhere. Emma trained in London at The Actor's Temple, and in Los Angeles with Ivana Chubbuck and at The Lee Strasberg Film and Theatre Institute. She has starred as Sandy in Grease, Rita in Educating Rita and Mrs. Dean in Bury The Dead at The Lee Strasberg Theatre in Los Angeles. Emma began writing comedy in 2007 and was part of the MySketch comedy collective, doing a successful run at The Etcetera Theatre in London and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2007 and 2008. Throughout 2008 she did stand-up comedy, performing in New York, London, Brighton and Edinburgh and she hosted her own hugely successful comedy night in London. As a writer Emma has written for the UK's best selling weekly, LOOK magazine, and had her own column for London glossy GROVE magazine, charting a year in the life of a stand-up comic.
