Andrea Purgatori is an Italian journalist, screenwriter, essayist and actor, born Rome . He has been chief editor and correspondent for Il Corriere della Sera and he currently works for the Huffington Post Italia and Le Monde Diplomatique. For cinema, he wrote, among others, "Il muro di gomma", which won the Nastro d'argento award in 1992 as best screenplay, "Nel continente nero", "Il giudice ragazzino", which won the Globo d'oro award in 1994 as best screenplay, "Fortapàsc" and "L'industriale". Author and anchorman of several tv shows, he also wrote many series for television such as: "Vite blindate", "Iqbal", "L'attentatuni", "Un caso di coscienza", "Petrosino", "Caravaggio", "L'amore proibito", "Lo scandalo della Banca romana".
