Antwerp based Bruno Raes, born 1947, along with Willy Vanduren and Luc Beerten is one of the creators of long-running Flemish sitcom F.C. De Kampioenen (1990). A former television producer and a journalist for one of the leading Flemish Belgian newspapers, De Standaard. After his television work, Raes was active as a travel journalist for the newspaper. In television, he worked as production manager and producer for several VRT programs, the public broadcasting company in Flanders. In 1989, he conceived the idea for the sitcom F.C. De Kampioenen with his contemporaries Vanduren and Beerten. Raes left after twelve seasons. In 2007, he retired. He left VRT in 2004 but had left the sitcom two years earlier leaving his duties as showrunner to the late Marc Scheers.
