Marius Teodorescu was born on 8th of September 1925 in Bucharest, Romania. He graduated from the Theater and Movie Institute Bucharest in 1951. After working as director's assistant 1956 for Haralambie Boros's "Afacerea Protar" ("Protar Affair"), he made three films on his own: "Bijuterii de Familie" ("Family Jewellry") (1957), after Petru Dumitriu's novel, "Mandrie" ("Pride") (1960), and "Calea Victoriei sau Cheia Visurilor" ("Victoriei Street or The Key to Dreams") (1965), for which he was also the screen player. 1966-1698 he was the Director of the National Movie Archives. In 1968 he emigrated to Canada settling in Montreal, where he taught film history. He died in 2001.
