Charles Taylor Gould has been an actor in the Portland Oregon area for over 15 years. Charles began producing and directing his own projects in 2009. Charles' first short film "Calvin" (which examines the impact that domestic violence has on children) was an official entry in Seattle International Film Festival's "Bumbershoot", The San Diego Black Film Festival (the third biggest black film festival in the country) and the Columbia Gorge International Film Festival where it won "Best Film in it's category". Charles' second film is in its final stages of production and is a full length documentary about Multnomah County's vulnerable children and the systems designed to protect them. Charles' third film "Butterflies" examines the resilience of one child who is raised in a home with an alcoholic and abusive parent. Charles has spent nearly 20 years in the Portland Oregon area working with children in the juvenile justice system. Charles has been an advocate for children's rights for over a decade, building programs for Multnomah County Community Corrections that are designed to help boys and girls become productive men and women. Whether documentary, music video or narrative film, Charles' productions have one common goal...give voice to neglected and abused children.
