Gustavo Thoeni

Gustavo Thoeni was born on 28 February 1951 in Trafoi, Italy. He is a world class skier who represented Italy in many alpine skiing competitions. He competed three times in the Winter Olympics, winning one gold and two silver medals. He is also a multiple world champion. After retiring from top level competitive skiing in 1980, he appeared in a lead role in the Italian skiing drama Un centesimo di secondo (1981). He was further involved in skiing as a coach and team manager of the Italian national team.
