Mykola Pavlovych Topchiy graduated from the Technical Department of the Odessa State College of Cinematography (1929). He worked at the VUFKU Odessa Film Factory (1929-1934), then at the "Ukrainfilm" Studio in Kiev. During the war years, he worked for the Ukrainian Chronicle of Documentary Films (1944-1945). And from 1956 he worked at the Kiev Film Studio. OP Dovzhenko. He was a member of the Union of Cinematographers of the USSR.
