Leonardo Treviglio is an Italian actor best known to cult films audiences as the leading character in Derek Jarman's Sebastiane (1976) where he plays a Roman Catholic guard who suffers on the hands of his commander and his gay subordinates due to his religious beliefs. A handsome man with striking features, Sebastiane is severely tested by the other guards who long and desire for his body but he never succumbs to their actions. After his stardom in the film, he went on and acted in several other projects such as The Day Christ Died (1980), Malamore (1982), Desire (1984) for which he was nominated as Best New Actor in the Italian National Syndicate of Film Journalists; Michael Cimino's The Sicilian (1987), a lead role in Intimacy (1988), the French film A Man and Two Women (1991), Bernardo Bertolucci's Stealing Beauty (1996), Julie Taymor's Titus (1999), Amatemi (2005) and the TV series Crime Evidence (2005). As a stage actor, he was a member of the Living Theatre from veteran actor Julian Beck in between the late 1960's and early 1970's.
