Marvin Towns was introduced to the film business though his friendship with Muhammad Ali as a high school kid in the late 70's. First working as a production assistant on Muhammad's TV miniseries Freedom Road. His next gig was on The Blues Brothers and he hasn't looked back. Towns' production skills have been honed through years of working on big studio films, TV shows and small independent features. Working his way up through the Directors Guild of America from 2nd AD to UPM, he now works as the Producer and Director for some of the most experienced executives and directors in the feature film and commercial business today. Marvin is the director of the 12 time award winning short film Swing Low which includes 3 awards for Best Director. Marvin's strengths are his ability to be the "go to" guy for Producers, talent, crew members, unions, guilds and vendors keeping in mind that his job one is bringing the project in on time and on budget with the least conflict possible while keeping a cool head! Through feature films and television commercial jobs and his creation of the Concours d'Elegance at Cranbrook, the Detroit Festival of Speed and Style and the Classic Cruise Extravaganza, Towns is a friend with leading executives from General Motors, Ford Motor Company and Chrysler, LLC (which has come in handy on feature film logistics!) Based in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, Marvin is well connected in the U.S. and International film community and is available for work worldwide.
