Geoffrey Uloth is an award-winning writer, director and producer. Born to an English-speaking family in a French-speaking neighbourhood in Quebec, Canada, during the "two solitudes," and unable to play with the neighbourhood kids as a result, he spent his childhood making up fantastical stories with his brother, David Uloth, and sister, Holly Uloth. His mother had recurring cancer and died soon after his 21st birthday, and he and his filmmaking siblings used storytelling to deal with the trauma. Subsequently, many of his films feature outsiders dealing with loss or loneliness and attempting to connect with an individual or group. After two years as a professional snowboarder for Burton Snowboards, he graduated with a B.A. in Communication Studies at Concordia University and has a degree in Liberal Arts from Dawson College. His student film, The Fight For Freedom, a satire propaganda film about propaganda in the modern world, was officially selected by the Montreal World Film Festival. After graduation, his award-winning short films, Wildflowers (2003) and The Ecstasy Note (2006), were both officially selected by the Toronto International Film Festival, and The Ecstasy Note became one of Canada's highest-grossing short films of all time after being licensed by CBC, Canal+, Moviola and Fox International. His feature screenplay, Dead Tired, written with co-writer, Jean-François Dasylva-LaRue, won the third place Horror prize at the Slamdance Screenplay Competition. Along with host, Cyril Chauquet, Geoffrey was instrumental in developing, writing and directing the hit adventure series, Chasing Monsters (2015), so when he's not writing or directing fiction, he travels the globe filming in some of the world's most beautiful and hostile environments. In November, 2017, he wrapped filming on the dramatic superhero film, Moment (2019). After winning multiple awards, including the Audience Award for Best International Short Film at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFFF), Moment entered development as a longer format property.
