Melanie Jeffcoat is an American Actor, Writer and Director. She is the co-founder of the critically acclaimed Circle X Theatre Co. in Los Angeles and has won numerous awards as a theatre actor and producer. As an actor, Melanie has recently appeared on the TV shows The Passage and Dynasty and in films such as Bigger, Baby Crabby Pants, Paradise, Showgirls, Most Wanted, You're Too Something and Man in the Glass. She owns Circle X Films, LLC and continues to write and direct films. She has produced over 20 independent films, most notably the award-winning documentary "Gip" which was part of Season 3 of REEL South and is now available nationally on PBS. She wrote, directed and starred in the award-winning and controversial short film "Open Secret" which won Audience Favorite at the Politics on Film Festival in Washington, D.C. and then went on to become incorporated into an interactive exhibit on voting rights at the Tuskegee Human and Civil Rights Center. The film was also requested by the US Department of Justice for their Voting Rights Section Library. Melanie is the Writer/Director of the films Requiem, Wake and Lockdown which are all slated for 2019 releases. Melanie took a hiatus from all production and acting for an extended period of time in order to care for her child who became seriously ill and is thrilled to once again have a healthy and thriving daughter and to be back to creating and telling stories.
