Wylie is a Stand Up Comic in New York City. Wylie was born in Houston, Texas. Graduated Spring Branch High School in 1961. A Theater major at Houston Baptist University for a year then got married and had 2 daughters & 1 son. After his divorce 20 years later he went back to Houston Baptist U & finished his degree in Acting in 1981. After driving a cab in Houston for 2 years seriously deciding to move to New York he made the decision to go. After living in the Sloan House YMCA on 34th Street for 7 years, he qualified (thanks to his SAG background work) to move into Manhattan Plaza, the performing artists building in midtown NYC. He has studied at the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute where he met Elaine Aiken (long time member of the Actors Studio). He left the Institute with Elaine when she formed her Actors Conservatory. There he studied with her for 8 years. During that time he had the privilege of being in the class when Alex Baldwin joined the class to brush up on his work. He did a scene from Streetcar Named Desire. BrookShields came for a short while. Michael Imperioli & John Ventimiglia were also long time members of the class before they were on the Soprano's. He did background work on Carlito's Way with Vine Pastore (before he was also on the Soprano's) when they both were extras. Today, 28 years after he first joined Sag, Wylie is pursuing only Principal Acting work, but the studying still continues. He is now studying with Pamela Kramer at the Actors Connection in her on going Horror Class. And now he is doing Stand Up Comedy in New York City.
