Mozhdeh Shamsai

Mojdeh Shamsaie was born in Tehran and achieved her bachelor of arts degree in theatre from Azad University. Shamsaie is the daughter of Manuchehr Shamsaie, the acclaimed Iranian gaffer. In addition to theatre, she has been active in cinema as well, and was the make-up artist of the movie Shayad Vaghti digar (a.k.a. Maybe Some Other Time) in 1987. She started acting in cinema by playing at Bahram Beyzaie's Mosaferan (a.k.a. Travelers) in 1992. Shamsaie has done several performances in North America. She is married to Bahram Beyzaie, one of Iran's most acclaimed filmmakers, playwrights, and scholars of the history of Iranian theatre. Mojdeh Shamsaie and Bahram Beyzaie have a son, Niassan Beyzaie.
