Merlyn Sexton

Several members of the New Orleans military community served as extras, but Merle Sexton was picked for a larger role. Originally from the Dakotas, Colonel Merlyn Sexton was serving as the 4th Marine Division G-3 (Operations Officer) at the time this movie was filmed. He later served as Chief of Staff under then Major General Matthew T Cooper during Desert Storm, successfully activating almost the entire division. He previously had commanded the 25th Marine Regiment in Worcester, MA, and later served at Headquarters, Marine Corps in the Manpower and Reserve Affairs department before retiring.
