Eric Smith is an award-winning director/designer and producer. He currently serves as Creative Director of Free Range Studios (www.freerange.com) Eric is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design and began his career as a designer in New York. In early 1997, Eric moved to Los Angeles to join the newly formed entertainment & design agency Imaginary Forces, making the transition from print and architectural graphic design to motion graphics and live action direction. While at Imaginary Forces, he worked on films for directors such as John Sayles, Peter Weir, Neil Labute, Taylor Hackford, and Oprah Winfrey. Eric also lead commercial projects for The Gap, Microsoft, Cadillac, and Intel. In addition, he co-directed the re-design of Lifetime Television. In 2001 Eric joined the global design company Attik as Design Director in the company's New York office. While there he directed commercials for Comcast, Charles Schwab and Verizon in addition to heading broadcast projects for HBO and Cinemax. Eric joined the staff of Hollywood marketing agency Trailer Park, heading the Graphic Design division and working with all major studios on feature film campaigns and title sequences. In 2007 he co-executive produced the syndicated reality series "The EcoZone Project." He has won numerous awards for his work and has spoken extensively on design to a wide range of groups and conferences around the country.
