Shawn Sourgose initially studied Motion Picture Production at De Anza College where he made several short films that allowed him to be accepted into the "Film Core" an advanced film production program at San Francisco State University. He continued his education at SFSU where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Cinema. In his years working in San Francisco, he worked on over 50 films in various production positions. He also worked at the Saul Zaentz Company in Emeryville as a contract sound editor working on a 16mm feature length film titled "Jacobian's Desire." Shawn has written and directed 5 short films and 3 feature films. His short film But, Not to Touch is about a woman reflecting back as a child and how she dealt with her father's suicide, which was invited to the PIC Film Festival and the Asian American Film Festival. Shawn's first feature film Brown Sheep, a film Noir dark comedy, was distributed by Eclipse International and was released in France. This was the first of his 2 features as a director which he worked with British Academy Award winning Director of Photography Rick Fichter (Return of the Jedi, Poltergeist, Top Gun, Aliens: Resurrection).
