Nigel Stafford-Clark was born in Bromley,Kent,and educated at Felsted and Trinity College Cambridge. He is the son of the distinguished psychiatrist David Stafford-Clark, and the younger brother of the theatre director Max Stafford-Clark. After getting his start in television commercials,he has been producing feature films and high-end television drama since the 1980s,first with The Moving Picture Company and Zenith Productions,the leading UK independent of its day,and more recently with his own production company Deep Indigo. He is a three-time BAFTA winner, and his productions have also won America's Peabody Award, the Prix Italia, the Golden Nymph at Monte Carlo, Primetime Emmys and multiple awards from the Royal Television Society and the Broadcasting Press Guild. He is married with two children,and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
