Rosane Svartman graduated in Cinema Studies at Universidade Federal Fluminense, UFF (1991); master's degree in Communications - Aesthetics and Technology at Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, UFRJ (2006); PhD in Cinema Studies at Universidade Federal Fluminense, UFF. The book based on her thesis, Telenovelas and Transformation: Saving Brazil's Television Industry, was published by Routledge in 2021. Rosane directed 5 feature films: Como Ser Solteiro/ How to be Single in Rio (1998); Mais uma Vez Amor/ Once Again Love (2005); Desenrola/ Untangle (2011); Tainá - uma Aventura na Amazônia/ Tainá- an adventure in the Amazon (2012). She premiered 2022 her fifth feature film, shot underwater and in 3D, Pluft, o fantamisnha/ Pluft, the little ghost. Rosane also wrote the books Quando Éramos Virgens/ When We Where Virgins (2006, Casa da Palavra Editors); Desenrola/ Untangle (2011, Ediouro Editors); Onde os Porquês têm resposta/Where the Why's Have Answers (2003, Jorge Zahar Editors); Melhores Amigas/ Best Friends (2006, Jorge Zahar Editors). Wrote the plays Mais uma Vez Amor/ Once Again Love (2004, directed by Ernesto Piccolo), O Pacto das 3 Senhoras/ The Pact of the 3 Ladies (2011, directed by Ernesto Piccolo) and Anjos Urbanos/ Urban Angles (2012, directed by Isabel Diegues). Head writer for two seasons of the TV telenovela Malhação/ Young Hearts (2012/2013 - 2014/2015), Globo TV, two times nominee for the International Emmy Digital Award (2013, 2016) and International Emmy Kids Award (2015). Head writer of the telenovela Totalmente Demais/ Total Dreamer (2015/2016), TV Globo, nominee for the International Emmy for best telenovela (2017), sold to over 100 different territories. Head writer of the telenovela Bom Sucesso / A life worth living (2019/2020), for TV Globo, Rose D'Or Award nominee 2020. Partner of the independent audiovisual production company Raccord Produções (raccord.com.br ) and co-founder in 1995 of the Grupo Nós do Morro Cinema School in the Vidigal favela community.
