John Swanbeck is a film and theatre director. For his work on the stage play "Greek" he was awarded the 1994 Joseph Jefferson Award Citation for Director as Best Director. His next big work was the feature film The Big Kahuna (1999), where he united the talents of Kevin Spacey, Danny DeVito and Peter Facinelli where they play three different and unique salesmen gathered in a hotel room where they discuss matters of life, death and business while waiting for their next big client, a man who can save their lives as workers for a small yet promising company. Swanbeck made a movie that flows like a staged play and he extracted excellent performances from the cast, getting some acclaim on the indie film circuit. Sadly, he has never returned to film acting and little is known from his outside work.
