Since her beginnings at The University of Oklahoma and her roots in theatre and promotion Nia Hill has continuously set out to inspire the world through film, television, theatre, and music; giving voice to creative ideas as a writer, producer, composer and entrepreneur. Ms. Hill's first company - The Solstice Group quickly became one of the leading concert, theatre promotion, and booking agencies in the Southeast United States. In 1997 her involvement as co-creator and founder of Strange Fruit Media a film and television production company, Hill co-created acclaimed television series' Sunday Best, The Family Crews, One Night Only, Exalted! and Family Reunion. Through Strange Fruit Media, Hill offered fourteen years of great content as one of the most prominent African-American owned female production companies to date. The Momentum Experience(date?), was birthed from the need to own and distribute images that reflected the under represented in documentary film making. By combining the mediums of live theatre performance with commercial film, The Momentum Experience is strongly and publicly supported by visionaries like Will Smith, Tisha Campbell-Martin, Duane Martin, and Blair Underwood. Hill has since been involved with the docu-reality series, One Night Only produced in conjunction with Dreamworks, it incorporated the lives of post Katrina high school students attempting to mount their own version of the original Tony award winning musical, with the clips from the All-Star cast of "Dreamgirls" the movie. Within the last year Hill, has received an NAACP Image award for Executive Producing Tv competition series, Sunday Best, and won a Grammy for writing the hit song "Jesus" sung by Sunday Best's contestant LeAndria Johnson.Hill also completed the Libretto for an Opera titled: Nina Simome presents "Cest Tout Absourde" A Coloured Ballet, which she wrote with the daughter of Ms. Simone herself. Ms. Hill directed and collaborated with five African American mothers to create a touching docu-feature about how the women struggle to raise their autistic children. The film titled "Colored My Mind," screened at the white house in (date) and presented to congress to enforce more effective legislative change for this particular demographic of autistic children.The team received an official letter from Congress stating that the bill was signed by President Obama and passed into law. Nia Hill is truly one of today's most devoted visionaries. Some set out to create their own path; others simply know their calling and carry out each task in light of this calling.
