Zhanina Dragostinova was born on March 8, 1962 in Varna, Bulgaria. She graduated from the National Academy for Theatre and Film Art, Sofia, Bulgaria with a degree in film studies. Her first book of journalistic texts is called "Your Story" (2004). She translated from the German books "The logic of images" by Wim Wenders, "Anarchy fantasy" by Rainer Werner Fassbinder, "Journey to Trulli" by Vladimir Kaminer, "Night Tariff" and "Heartbeat" by Ildiko von Kuerten, "Street boxer" from Inka Steam, "Eagles and Angels" by July Tse. She has two sons - Todor and Dimitar. Both of them took part in some Bulgarian movies. Now Zhanina Dragostinova lives in Vienne.
