Paul was born in the late Cenozoic Era, in Newton, Massachusetts, home of the stars. His parents were working at Boston's specialty grocer S.S. Pierce, his dad as a traveling salesman and his mom as a "Candy Girl," when they married and had Paul. Amid a childhood spent riding bikes, building forts and playing in the town dump, he dreamed of making his mark as an actor like fellow Newtonites Robert Preston, Betty Davis and Leonard Nimoy. After a variety of short-lived careers including forester, TV film critic (3 Emmy nominations), hockey goalie, newspaper reporter, psychic's assistant and college custodian (Matt Damon is from Newton, too!), Paul received a Masters degree in Theatre from the Trinity Rep. Conservatory and Rhode Island College. Following a successful 10 year career as an actor in Boston (actually a second career; his first one ending abruptly when, as a five year-old in a live commercial, he projectile vomited pink Hostess Snowball all over the host's white jacket), he moved to the shores of Venice Beach to see what Hollywood might have to offer. His resume shows the work he's done, but many projects he thought would be his "big break" aren't there, having disappeared under unusual circumstances. His first lead role in a film evaporated when, half-way through the shoot, the producer absconded to Europe with both the budget and the footage, the FBI in hot pursuit. His first national commercial, in which he starred as a cop disarming a bomb, played once on September 10, 2001. It was pulled the next day. A "pivotal" scene between Paul and the stars of "Running With Scissors" was cut when the plot was rewritten. Paul hopes to create many more memorable role and characters that audience get to see and delight in.
