Lovely, striking, and commanding brunette Claire Wilbur was born on June 8, 1933 in Connecticut. Claire portrayed predatory and calculating bisexual swinger Elvira in the Off-Broadway stage production of the racy Jerry Douglas play "Score," which ran from October 28, 1970 to November 15, 1970 at the Martinique Theatre. Wilbur deftly reprised this role in Radley Metzger's masterful 1973 cinematic adaptation of said play. Her sole other foray into film acting was a memorable turn as wealthy and lascivious lesbian Toni Blake in the enjoyable drive-in exploitation outing "Teenage Hitch-hikers." Claire co-produced the acclaimed Robin Lehman shorts "Nightlife" and "The End of the Game." Moreover, Wilbur was also a dedicated animal rights activist and wrote two unpublished books of poetic verse on the Japanese porcelain feline Mankei Neko. Claire was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2003. She died peacefully at age 70 in her Upper East Side apartment in Manhattan on May 20, 2004.
