Attended The Lee Strasberg Institute in Los Angeles for three years. Walked the red carpet in New York for "Walk the Line". Once considered for the role of Elvis in the NBC miniseries. Has a home in Memphis but frequently lives in New Orleans. Dad is a retired doctor and mother is a retired school teacher. Both divorced when J.W. was sixteen. Moved to Los Angeles briefly after graduating high school. Returned to receive college degree in Film Production and Communication.
