Raphael Alvarez is an award winning showrunner, director, producer and editor for television and film. He was awarded the equivalent of the Brazilian Academy Awards (Academia Brasileira de Cinema) for best editing for the film Dzi Croquettes, which he also directed. Dzi Croquettes won over 28 international awards, becoming the most awarded documentary in Brazilian history. It received outstanding reviews on major media outlets such as The New York Times, The LA Times, Time Out NY, LA Weekly, Village Voice, among many others. Raphael has also co-created, showrunned, produced and directed many TV shows for many of the major TV networks in Brazil, reaching an overall audience of 33 million viewers with many of his shows. Most recently, Raphael was the showrunner for "Having a Party - A Disney World Special" with Fernanda Rodriguez, "Living on Laughter" with Brazilian movie star Ingrid Guimarães and the celebrity based reality show "Os Gretchens" which included a special appearance by Katy Perry. Raphael Alvarez is originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and has made the USA his home for the past 26 years.
